Indigo

Halloween is coming and with it the dances in Satulinna. Now that my outfit is almost ready, I had to do something with my hair. Since I wasn't dyeing my hair for over a year, I kind of didn't want to treat them with the harmful chemicals again and risk, yet again a great loss of hair.

Then I remembered henna and did a little research.

Because I wanted my dark brown hair, to be raven black, I decided to go with the pure indigo. This was the first time I was doing it, and even though I've read countless instructions on "how to, I kinda failed.

I mean I did put it in the hair as best, as I only could, and I had it on my hair for over 4 hours. My head was wrapped in a foil-towel cocoon. I was afraid it might happen so, that I will end up with hair like a cow's hide. And it did.

What went wrong?

To start, I think that the mixture was too thick, so I had really issues with putting it on my hair.
I applied it from the back of my head, towards the front. Well I was pretty much kneeling over the bowl full of indigo.
I was doing that without a mirror.
I used 100 g of indigo powder, and I guess it might be a bit too little for the length of my hair.

So today I am making the second attempt, to get the hair covered properly. Let's see...

Castor oil - my new best friend

Some time ago I stumbled upon some blogs promoting natural cosmetics, and there I've read of the many benefits of the castor oil. So I decided to use it on my lashes, because it is said to be great for them. And I can back that! After only a week of a daily application, I can actually see the difference. My lashes look stronger, more shiny and they are longer. Also they have darkened a little bit. I absolutely love it, although twice I got the oil in my eye, and it was weird...

First time I applied it with a cotton ear stick and it was a bad idea. From then I'm applying it with my fingers. I use one drop of the castor oil, and it is more than enough. Also it has improved the look of the skin around my eyes, and healed (?) the eczema on my eyelid...Well, it didn't really heal it, but after a week it is no longer red, no longer irritated and the skin does not blister there. It is still a little bit swollen, but it looks and feels much, much better. Also one other thing that came to my mind is, that my eyelids do not itch anymore on the lash lines as they used to :)

I intend to continue to apply it and also try the other applications for it :)

I am back

back to the poor student's life, back to the cooking, and back to the baking <3

I'll write a bit more, when I will be done with the logistics course, and I hope I'll be able to be much more active blogger. Soon I will start posting the recipes for the dishes that I like or I have tested for the first time :)

This is sort of my personal cookbook :D

Let 2014 be the year of...

...Fulfilling my dreams. Well not all of them - just a part, so I can still have something to look for.

This year the main attractions will be:

- Driver's license for motorbike
- Learning the Ballroom dances
- Starting the classical ballet class
- and starting the pole dancing

Not necessary in this order, but the main point this year is, to force myself to do the physical exercises.

Among all the other things, there will be the school (which is on hold due to work) that needs to be finished, and more cooking & baking experience.

Recently a friend proved it to me, that I'm not that good of a cook as I thought - but I still bake better stuff than him <3 Not that I would be bragging, oh no...

There is a challenge waiting for me in the Kingdom of Desserts - The Classic: Lemon meringue pie (Thanks to AM :) )

Lets see what life has to offer in 2014 :)
